The humanity was initially concerned with the issues of the universe, the
essence of the objective reality, the mystery, the life and the divine laws.
Though people since the time immemorial have certain notions about the Creator
of the Universe, but only few of them are striving to accept and learn the
divine laws related to human being and a call of the man in this world. A
striving for learning the laws of the Universe gave a birth to a science
called Tawhid or Kalom, theological science in Islam.
One of the founders of this science was our Uzbekman Abu Mansur Moturidi. He was born in Moturud town, near Samarqand. The great scientist of the mystic Sufi Order Abu Ismoil Ansori had defined the Tawhid as the science on the "Secrets of the Almighty". If this science is involved into the investigation of the mystery, then not all sinful men may have an access to this sacred knowledge. Therefore, in the epoch of Imam Al-Bukhari and Imam Al-Termezi there were heated discussions and arguments among the theologists, which very often ended with the obstruction and persecution of certain outstanding scientists. In the environs of that epoch, Abu Mansur Moturidi had committed a certain deed in science. Through his scientific treatises he had put the end to all arguments by introducing a new science Kalom into the world of science. The following lists are Abu Mansur Moturidi's works: ![]()
"Kitob Ta"yilot al-Kur'on" (the "Book of Comments to
Koran")
"Kitob Ma"khaz ash-Shariah" (the "Sources of Muslim Legislation") "Kitob al-Jadal ("A Book on Dialectics") "Kitob al-Usul" ("On the basis of Islamic Legislation") "Kitob al-Makofat fi Usul ad-Din" (the "Book on levels of religiousness and the basis od religion") "Kitob at-Tawhid" ("A Book on the Unity of the Universe"), etc. It is evident even from the names of these books, that Abu Mansur Moturidi was a discoverer of the dialectic way of learning the world and of the divine laws of the Universe. Ali Shair Naway in his book "Nasoyimul-Muhabbat" (the "Light Winds of Love") is describing the life and actions of the great Sufi mystics in the following way: "Sheik Abu Mansur Moturidi, let God bless his mysteries, was the most knowledgeable man among all scholars. Then he was nicknamed as "Sultan Al-Muizzin" (the "King of the Respected scholars").
His image was adorned with evident and mystic knowledge". The article deals
with comments of some European scientists on the essence of the Tawhid science
and Theology, on the unity of God and the Universe.
